Nowadays dental implants are a predictable and popular treatment option for tooth replacement in completely or partially edentulous patients. Implants preferred over conventional due to certain advantages it offers like preservation of bone; adjacent teeth, durability, better mastication speech etc.Implant comes direct bone contact anchors through osseointegration. Successful osseointegration revolves around many factors such as biocompatibility the implant material, quality quantity available bone, surface implant, loading surgical protocol various other systemic local factors. Predictability clinical success can be enhanced by using newer materials alterations designs, protocols on basis literature. Various studies have suggested that rough enhances its integration with than smooth surface. Several approaches used attain improve process titanium implants. The present paper reviews different methods treating surfaces enhance interaction starting from basic material manufacture.
